While it is normal for young children to bounce around from thing to another. Children are full of energy. Never Feed Your ADHD Child
By documenting the foods that your child eats and paying special attention to their behaviors, you will likely see a spike in unfocused attention and misbehavior. Your child will be unable to follow directions. Even if they want to, they will be unable to control their behavior. What foods are the biggest contributors to misbehavior?
The first item on the list to not give to your ADHD child is a drink. Don’t give your ADHD child fruit drinks. The drinks are full of dyes and sugar. Both are a bad combination for your child causing a sugar spike and out of control behavior. In addition, the dyes can be toxic for your child.
Another drink that is bad for your ADHD child is soda. Soda is full of high fructose corn syrup, caffeine, and dyes. There is no nutritional value to soda. Soda increases the likelihood of inattention and hyperactivity.
Again, like fruit drinks, candy is full of sugar and dyes. The different dyes will change based upon the color of the candy that you give to your child. However, all of them are bad for your child’s health. And, both the sugar and dyes will increase hyperactivity.
Cake Mixes and Frosting
Cake mixes and frosting are full of artificial sweeteners. Artificial sweeteners are also a poor chose for a child with ADHD. Natural sweeteners are much better for your ADHD child.
Fish and Other Seafood
The last of the foods to never feed your ADHD child is fish and other seafood. Some fish and other seafood contain mercury. Mercury exasperates ADHD symptoms. However, don’t give up on your Omega 3. Talk with your doctor to find types of fish that are good for your child, because Omega 3 is a great supplement for your ADHD child. Omega 3 can help increase focus and reduce hyperactivity.
If your child suffers from ADHD, you need to monitor your child’s behavior along with their food intake. Never feed your ADHD child the above listed foods and drinks if you aren’t ready to deal with the consequences. There are other food sensitivities that your child could face, so pay attention to other types of foods that cause your child to lose focus and increase hyperactivity.
