We’ve said previously that mountain biking is one of the best ways to experience the outdoors. But it turns out to also be a great way to explore the underground. One group of mountain bikers decided to demonstrate this fact when they biked through an abandoned mine shaft. Take a look at the video, courtesy of Killian Bron:

The team of mountain bikers went exploring in the Colorado Provencal region of France and discovered this abandoned mineshaft. They descended hundreds of feet underground and rode through miles of tunnels, at one point having to crawl through a very narrow opening to continue.
The bikers say they explored the tunnels to avoid the rain, but in the process they had a unique biking experience they probably wouldn’t trade for anything. Although it’s important to note that exploring random caves can be dangerous, hopefully this video inspires you to take your bike someplace you wouldn’t normally think to go.
